About National Zoo & Aquarium
The National Zoo and Aquarium is a privately owned 47-acre zoo that was established in the Australian capital city of Canberra. It features many types of animals, including those from Africa as well as Asia! The new expansion opened with 12 ha (30 acres) worth of exhibits. The Zoo is a combined zoo and aquarium that houses both Australian Endemic species as well introduced ones, such as the largest collection of big cats in Australia, including until recently one tigon which can be found on Australia's shores. They are also involved with many breeding programs for endangered animals here at their institution.
